Ghagar Buri temple
Ghagar Buri, located on the outskirts of Asansol, is the oldest temple of the city. Goddess Ghagar Buri is a form of Maa Chandi. The deities are worshipped in the temple in the form of three stones. The right-side black stone is Lord Shiva, the middle one is Maa Ghagar Buri, and on the left side is Maa Annapurna.

Kalyaneshwari Temple
Located on the foothill of Maithon Hills, this ancient temple is 500 years old. Maa Kalyaneshwari is a form of Goddess Kali. Devotees believe that the Goddess Kalyaneshwari fulfills the wishes of childless women. People believe that the footprint imprints of Mother are still visible on the temple premises.
Maithon Dam
Maithon derived its name from Mai Ka Sthan, which means the place of Mother(Goddess Kalyaneshwari). Maithon Dam is one of the best places to visit in Asansol. The dam is located on a picturesque landscape amidst a beautiful lake and beautiful green forests. The distance from Asansol station is around 40 Kms. The dam is built over a large lake.
Nehru Park
A German general manager of IISCO steel plant, Burnpur, named F.W.A.Lahmeyer, laid out the park. Hence, it is also famous as Lahmeyer or Lamiah Park. Located on the banks of river Damodar, Nehru park has a beautiful garden and walkways. It is certainly one of the top places to visit in Asansol.

The musical fountain operates on weekends and Thursdays. During winters, it becomes a popular picnic spot. Visitors avail boating on the big pond inside the park. This place is ideal for pre-wedding, maternity, and baby photoshoots.

This newly opened chain from the renowned Coffee house from college street Kolkata has become the pride of Asansol. The interior is grand, and the prices of snacks are comparatively low for such an excellent ambiance.
Panorama Water Park
This amusement cum water park is located on the Chittaranjan – Neamatpur Road. You can have fun with lots of amazing rides. Kids enjoy the water park a lot. It also has a horror house, Mask Garden and Children Garden.
Kazi Nazrul Islam House
Churulia, the village of the national poet of Bangladesh, Kazi Nazrul Islam, is located around 20 Kms from the Asansol station. Nazrul Academy, the museum has preserved the belongings of the rebel poet. Many of his handwritten poems, clothes, personal belongings, and rare pictures are on display.

Nazrul had received the Jagattarini Gold Medal, the highest honor for his work in Bengali literature and Padma Bhushan. One can see his medals in the museum. Nazrul died in Bangladesh.
Bari Maidan
This religious place at the heart of Burnpur city has an idol of almost all Hindu Gods and goddesses. It is an important hub for the people of Burnpur and the center of attraction of this town. People sit on adda in the spacious courtyard of the premises.
Satabdi Park
The park is situated at the heart of the city near the Asansol bus stand. Although it is a children’s park, there are hardly any fun activities available for kids. Park is a great place to hang out with loved birds. Do not visit this place with family and friends.
Spandan Recreation Park

Chandrachur Mandir

The church’s façade, made entirely of red brick, exudes a beautiful old-world charm and elegance. It is a major center of worship for the Catholics in Asansol. The church is decorated on special occasions such as Christmas and Easter.
Restaurant on the Wheels
The initiative by Eastern Railway Asansol Division to convert the two old train coaches into pleasant restaurants is the first of its kind. The restaurants’ Chai Chun and WoW Bhojan are just outside the Asansol Railway Station.
